Purpose: This position performs Quality Assurance testing of new or modified applications/systems according to Business Requirements. The successful candidate will assure a high level of quality in business systems through execution of test cases, verification of test results and the resolution of problems found. Candidate will participate in the development, analysis and continuous improvement of QA processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Conducts daily test activities to meet sprint/team goals
Participates in all scrum ceremonies (daily scrum, refinement, planning etc)
Assist development teams with the development and documentation of user stories and acceptance criteria
Collaborate closely with the development team to create effective strategies, understand user stories and ensure a high-quality deliverable
Planning and prioritization of assigned work
Creation, maintenance and execution of test cases (manual)
Execution, maintenance and monitoring of test automation scripts
Creation and tracking of defects found during test execution
Support of the UAT testing activity
Providing knowledge transfer/guidance to new or less experienced team members
Continuous learning to become an effective cross-functional member of the development team

Excellent working knowledge of agile scrum methodologies and best practices
Observes established testing and quality assurance standards
Performs all testing activities in a thorough and professional manner
Utilizes established test planning, test process management and defect management tools

Experience working with SQL and databases
Experience testing web-based applications

Goal oriented and flexible to work as required to meet required deadlines
Additional Competencies/Skills (nice to have)
Insurance software knowledge and/or process understanding
Knowledge of Azure Devops (from a Work Management Perspective)
Knowledge of Testing in Azure Devops
ISTQB Foundation (and Agile modules)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ experience in a systems quality environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Excellent analytical ability, judgment, consultative and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff.
